Li Yao reached down, wiped a finger across the traces on the ground, and rubbed it between his fingers before his eyes. After observing it for a moment, he clapped his hands again to shake off the dust. "It should have been coordinated throughout the city using the broadcast system. The traces here all point in the same direction, cover a wide area, and look newer than the traces left by the previous two rounds."

"They didn't flee outside."

Instead, they had retreated deeper into the city.

Yeah, Li Yao had used the word "retreated."

Old Man Lu said, "Looks like they're where you are."

Li Yao said, "Let's head back and take a look first."

By now, the team members they had brought back had basically all found transportation... all of it was little scooter-style motorcycles. They could not find a single decent motorcycle.

Motorcycles were banned in the provincial capital.

Looking at all those identical little scooters, and even electric bikes... Li Yao felt a pain in his liver.

Was this really that damn realistic? Pointing at several electric bikes, he asked, "Where did you find electric bikes? And they still had power?"

A soldier replied, "Reporting, sir, we found electric bikes charging in a garage. There were also some without power, so we pried batteries out of several electric cars and modified them onto the bikes."

Li Yao said, "..."

Well done! Li Yao waved his hand. "Then let's move out! You, you, get on the bike. We're leaving."

Old Man Lu, who had been ordered around, asked, "What about you?"

Li Yao pondered for two seconds. "I can fly."

Old Man Lu said, "???"

So what if you could fucking fly?

Like nobody else had ever been able to fly.
