The Secret at the Bottom of the Pool

On Douluo Continent, there was an ancient legend that was now known by very few.

The legend said that, a very, very, very, very long time ago, shortly after the Dragon God was born, it left the place where it lived and began roaming the universe.

Anyone would grow tired of playing with the same thing forever, and even gods were no exception.

Many years after the Dragon God began wandering the universe, it suddenly grew weary and wished to settle down. So, the Dragon God found a planet. That planet had no wind. The Dragon God said that there should be wind. And so, wind was born.

That planet had no light. The Dragon God said that there should be light, and thus, light came into being.

How could a planet have no life? Thus, the Dragon God began creating her own people—her first generation of children. She had a total of nine children, who later became the legendary Nine Great Dragon Kings. They had been created by the Dragon God, so they were both her children and her subjects.

After that, the Nine Great Dragon Kings opened up territories and multiplied, gradually giving rise to the later Nine Great Dragon Clans. They were the Gold Dragon, Mountain Dragon King, Fire Element Sacred Dragon, Ice (Water) Element Sacred Dragon, Earth Element Sacred Dragon, Wind Element Sacred Dragon, Light Sacred Dragon, Dark Sacred Dragon, and Space Element Sacred Dragon. They were the primary classifications of the dragon race. Other dragons, such as the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon, Hell Demon Dragon King, and Bone Dragon, were descendants born from their crossbreeding. On Douluo Continent, the power of the Dragon Kings gave rise to Spirit Beasts, as well as humans born from the interbreeding of humanoid Spirit Beasts and apes.
