Crossing Over, a New Plane

Heaven and earth were heartless, treating all things as straw dogs!

In truth, there had never been any immortals in this world. Since ancient times, mankind had witnessed the world around them: strange phenomena, lightning and thunder, natural disasters and man-made calamities, countless deaths and injuries, misery everywhere. None of it could be wrought by human strength, nor could it be resisted by human strength. Thus, they believed that above the vast nine heavens, there must be many Gods; beneath the deep Nine Netherworlds, there must also be a place that took in souls.

And so, tales of immortals arose. One by one, people devoutly kowtowed, worshipping the various Gods they imagined in their hearts, praying for blessings and pouring out their sorrows.

Yet, with hearts that revered and respected the Gods, some people began to discover the mysteries within themselves. Through certain methods, they were actually able to draw the spiritual energy of heaven and earth into their bodies. They called these methods cultivation techniques. Those humans capable of drawing spiritual energy into their bodies called themselves cultivators.

After hundreds, even thousands, of years of struggling and groping forward, those who practiced Cultivation and Dao Seeking finally became capable of seizing the creation of heaven and earth. With mortal bodies, they wielded formidable power. Then, with the aid of numerous magical artifacts, the power they commanded could shake heaven and earth and cause the skies and land to change color.

The Vast Divine Continent was boundless and immense. As the ages changed, those who practiced Cultivation and Dao Seeking became as numerous as carp crossing a river—countless beyond measure.
