"You seem to have known we were coming. You were waiting specifically for us."
The Bald-Headed Man narrowed his eyes as he looked at the fully armed Che Fengzi.
His gaze drifted downward despite himself, lingering on her chest for two seconds before moving back up.
The Black-Robed Man, meanwhile, was completely shrouded in his black robe. His face was hidden, so there was no telling whether his gaze wandered like the Bald-Headed Man's.
Che Fengzi gave the Black-Robed Man another look. She kept feeling that he wore that robe to hide something.
"Cut the crap. If you want to fight, then fight."
Che Fengzi closed her right hand, and a blue longsword appeared in her grasp.
The sword looked as though it had been carved from crystal. Rather than a weapon, it seemed more like an exquisite work of art.
"Before we fight, there's something I'd like to ask. Do you recognize this?"
The Bald-Headed Man took out the fragment he had found in the base in the Land of Fire.
Under the moonlight, the fragment gleamed coldly, its edge looking all the sharper.
"...What does it matter to you whether I recognize it?"
"So you do recognize it."
The Bald-Headed Man put the fragment away, a vicious grin spreading across his face.
He had already decided to torture this girl first, then force her to reveal who owned the fragment.
With just one glance, Che Fengzi recognized that the weapon this fragment had once belonged to had been made using the same method as the Water Control Sword in her hand.
But her fellow disciples all had different weapons, and this fragment matched none of them.
Could it be Master's?
That was her only guess.
If it involved her master, she had even more reason to keep quiet.
