After Sasuke talked him through it, Naruto still had not resolved his inner conflict, but his spirits had lifted considerably.
It was not because he agreed with the village's method of achieving peace through war, but because Sasuke had said one thing.
"Oh, right. This is what Hinata wants, too."
"Hinata knows about this, too?"
Sasuke looked at Naruto as though he were an idiot. "Hinata is the Hokage. Without her permission, the Hidden Leaf Village couldn't possibly start a war."
Upon learning this, Naruto opened his mouth.
In the end, he said nothing.
If this was what Hinata wanted, there was nothing he could do.
Hinata was his best friend. He could not betray his friend.
At worst, he would try to keep casualties to a minimum once the war began.
That was the only thing he could do for this world now.
The entire Hidden Leaf Village began mobilizing, and the ninja who had long since been recalled to the village assembled.
Seeing this, the envoy from Kumogakure thought the Hidden Leaf Village had agreed to an alliance and secretly rejoiced.
He waited to be summoned by the Hidden Leaf Village's Hokage.
Instead of receiving a summons, he discovered that he seemed to have been imprisoned.
"You can't do this! I'm Kumogakure's envoy! I demand to see the Hokage!"
The Anbu who had merely been keeping him under covert surveillance were now holding him captive.
He could no longer take a single step outside his room and could only pound on the door and shout.
The Anbu Ninja guarding him outside ignored him completely.
This made him realize that things seemed to be heading in the worst possible direction.
But he was imprisoned in the Hidden Leaf Village now, with no way to send word to the Raikage.
