Red Robe Priest Carlton fell into a dilemma.
If it had been an ordinary priest, he would not have struggled like this.
He would have prayed to the Colossus at once.
But Carlton was one of those clever people. Like Dr. Mili back then, he had become a priest by catering to the Colossus's preferences. He was not particularly devout himself.
He knew perfectly well what the Colossus truly was. It was not a god, but an Anomaly—just the hypocritical kind.
After hesitating for only ten minutes, priest Carlton made his decision:
Kill them!
Then destroy all the sunglasses.
No one knew what he had thought about during those ten minutes. Only he knew that he had considered every possibility.
The plan most beneficial to him was to kill them.
As for what exactly he had considered, others could only guess.
Dafflin took Black Guy with him to find a third friend—a guy who loved guns. In pursuit of realism, he had even worked as a mercenary and gotten one eye blown out, becoming One-Eyed Dragon.
He was the kind of man who feared death the least and lived only for thrills.
Now, he had become a monster hunter because it was even more thrilling.
That was why Dafflin had sought him out.
Black Guy was honest and dependable, perfect as a meat shield, while this guy would provide the firepower.
As for Dafflin himself, naturally he was the all-important commander...
On the way to find One-Eyed Dragon, Dafflin deliberately had Black Guy take a detour so he could look at his ex-girlfriend Anty from afar.
What relieved him was that she did not have a wolf's head. What pained him was that she was flirting with another man.
Just as he was about to turn away, Black Guy
