"Have you heard? The Eastern Continent People are building the Nine Stars District?"
A pretty female clerk gossiped to her male colleague.
"Of course I've heard. It's been all over the internet for ages," the male clerk replied enthusiastically.
"Do you want to go?"
"No."
"Why?"
"Because we'd definitely have to follow all sorts of deadly rules over there. How could it be better than here?"
"That's true, but if all the Ordinary People leave, what will we do staying here? Play single-player games?" the female clerk said with a smile.
"How could that happen? Do you know about The Matrix project? The key code has already been solved. All that remains are testing and networking issues."
"I remember that Brain-Plugged technology was solved a long time ago. Doesn't that mean we'll be able to establish a virtual world before long?"
"The Eastern Continent actually had virtual games long ago, and later even moved their operations to Southern India. Unfortunately, they hadn't mastered faith technology at the time."
"So we're still behind them?" the female clerk asked unwillingly.
"That's normal. They have a large population, vast territory, and encounter more strange objects. They're just relying on luck. But we rely on technological power, on technology that can be replicated endlessly. We are the true favored children of this universe!" The male clerk suddenly grew excited.
Another one of Miken's biggest losers, the female clerk thought disdainfully.
Yet not a trace of it showed on her face. She still wore a pleasant smile.
After all, losers were quite useful. At critical moments, they could be used as scapegoats.
Before long, the two clerks were notified to attend a meeting.
At the meeting, their superior was delivering an impassioned speech.
"The Matrix is our greatest plan at present. This
