The only difference was the transparent oval buildings scattered across its surface, giving it a distinctly sci-fi appearance.
Inside those buildings were houses, farmland, hospitals, schools, markets, factories... like an alien base in a sci-fi game.
Of course, it really was an alien base—a habitat for Earthlings.
Under the Intelligence Center's coordination, countless robots were constructing one habitat after another across the planet.
They had the Demon invasion to thank for completely mobilizing humanity's industrial productivity.
Humanity's economic system determined that production capacity could only grow as large as demand.
Without demand, productivity could not rise rapidly. No matter how advanced the technology was, it would never be put to use.
The root cause was simple: inertia was part of human animal nature. Once their needs were met, they had no motivation to progress, only motivation to entertain themselves.
"For now, we've constructed ten thousand habitats worldwide. Each can support a maximum of ten thousand people, but will initially carry only one thousand. Village-scale settlements make it easier to handle risks promptly when they arise."

"Mm, very prudent." Wenren Sheng nodded.
"Alright, let's place the first batch of people into the habitats. One thousand people per habitat; gender and age don't matter. We can reassign them afterward," Lao An continued.
