Day Thirteen.
When the Snake People army reached a mountain road, they were stumped.
The road was densely covered in vines.
Without cutting the vines, they could not pass through.
People could climb across, but the accompanying carts could not.
If the carts could not pass, neither could the supplies.
That was why armies had to travel on main roads: without carts, they simply could not carry enough rations and water.
A person could only carry enough food and water for a few days' journey.
Where had these vines come from?
Someone recognized them. They had been transplanted here.
These vines were a special local variety. They grew extremely quickly. Once watered, they would take root wherever they fell, leaving no room for any other plants to survive.
Soon, the Snake People ran into the same problem as the Bear People.
They could not cut down the plants. The moment they did, they would hear that voice.
Then they would be attacked by the plants.

They did not need to win. They only needed to wear the enemy down.
Since they were not allowed to destroy flowers, grass, or trees, they could simply think in reverse.
