The program had been set to stop there.
"How do you feel now?"
"My legs feel a little heavy." White Guy lifted one leg, then rubbed his belly. "And I'm a little hungry too."
"You previously exchanged for the ability to endure hunger. It should be gone now," Li Chun explained.
"Maybe that's it." White Guy gritted his teeth. "Give me the full treatment! Whether I die early or late depends on this!"
"Excellent. We like warriors like you." The researchers immediately reset the program.
In the microscopic world, countless Nanobots carried one cubic nanometer of physical space as they traveled along White Guy's neural network toward his brain.
After an unknown amount of time, White Guy fainted.
The researchers immediately began emergency treatment.

They said to Li Chun, "One piece of good news and one piece of bad news. The good news is that the mysterious factors in his body have been cleared away. The bad news is that he has lost his memory as well."
"Are you willing to trade your memories for freedom from the Black Tentacle?" Li Chun turned and asked the other four.
"We are." The four answered in unison.
"Wait, weren't you insane?" the researchers asked in surprise.
"We're better now," the four said shamelessly.
"Yes, we really were insane for a while, but we're better now."
