Chapter 2
"That's right, we humans are primates."
"And throughout history, many humans really were sent to zoos for certain nobles to view," Old D sneered.
He was a black person.
The others immediately came to a realization.
"I get it!"
"I get why all five of them died too!"
"The reason is simple. Those rules were all written for the visitors, while we're actually the animals on display!"
This trap was not particularly hard to figure out.
It was just that after entering, they had instinctively assumed they were visitors.
That was the fixed pattern of human thinking.
Without additional information, it was difficult to break free of it directly.
When people entered a zoo, they assumed they were visitors, never considering that they themselves were the animals.
Once they understood that, everyone's minds went blank.
They had never imagined that the truth would be like this.
"It's simple now. We have to find our own cage and lock it."
"This is the predator zone, and we aren't predators."
"We're omnivores. We should enter the primate cage."
The four of them quickly chose to leave the cage, following the walkway until they found a sign.
They then entered the cage where the primates were kept.
The four entered the cage and swiftly locked it.
Time passed second by second.
The entire zoo was silent.
As nine o'clock drew closer, everyone became more nervous.
Were their guesses correct? Could they really survive by hiding in a cage?
Had those five people truly guessed wrong?
Thought after thought rose and fell in their minds.
Nine o'clock finally arrived.
The zoo gates opened.
