Fortunately, a few hours later, both the Patrol Division and the Public Security Bureau sent people over.
Leading them were a rotund security officer, a patrol officer, and more than a dozen support personnel.
They had flown up the mountain by helicopter. It seemed they attached great importance to this sudden incident.
After introductions, they learned that the security officer was surnamed Chang and the patrol officer was surnamed Pang. Both had over a decade of work experience.
"Is this the scene of the incident?" Chief Chang looked at the Snow Cedar Tree on the cliff, where faint bloodstains could still be seen.
"Yes. Miss Lou was hanging from that tree at the time," Guan Yi replied. "We all saw it."
"Judging by the situation here, there are only two possibilities. Either her body fell down by itself, or someone pushed her down. Old Pang, what do you think?" Chief Chang frowned and turned to Patrol Officer Pang beside him.
"Our Great East Continent is enjoying an age of prosperity, where even dead trees bloom again. There cannot possibly be any vile crime. I think that body must have grown on the tree." Patrol Officer Pang glanced around, folded his arms across his chest, and spoke arrogantly.
Wenren Sheng picked at his ear, suspecting that his Mystic Hearing had started giving him auditory hallucinations.
But everyone else was also staring dumbfoundedly, caught between laughter and tears. Wenren Sheng then knew he had not misheard.
Chief Chang, however, nodded. "I see. Since the body grew on the tree, this is a bizarre incident. It has nothing to do with anyone else. We should report it and wait for it to be handled later."
With that, he took out a notebook and began making on-site records with a rustle of his pen.
