The Doctor Said My Stomach Is Bad So I Can Only Eat Soft Rice

Yu Luo suppressed his nausea, ignoring the churning in his stomach and the blood staining his body. He carried the half-eaten corpse out of the town and into a small grove of trees outside. There, he dug a hole beneath an old tree and buried it.

By the time Yu Luo finished, the moon was high in the sky. A small mound of earth stood beneath the tree, so insignificant, much like human life. There was no tombstone, no rock, just a simple mound of dirt, a final gesture of Yu Luo's sincerity.

"Do you think the demons in this world might be the ancestors of ghouls?" Yu Luo's mood was sour. He initiated a conversation with the System to vent his frustrations. After all, he had just watched his own kind being devoured like food. He wasn't heartbroken, but he was certainly depressed.

"Why do you always come up with such bizarre ideas?" The System was speechless at Yu Luo's wild imagination.

"Look, ghouls eat people, and demons eat people. Ghouls have superpowers, and you said demons have superpowers too. It's settled then, demons are the ancestors of ghouls!"

"Are you serious? Are you the 'Master of Logic'?" Yu Luo's theory stunned the System. For the first time, it felt its vocabulary lacking, and could only manage to blurt out this one sentence.

"Don't say it, but after analyzing it myself, I almost believed it." Yu Luo sat beneath the tree, leaning against the trunk, gazing at the town under the night sky. His expression quickly turned somber.

"Do you think there are any demons that don't eat people?" Yu Luo asked the System casually. The System rolled its eyes and retorted, "Do you think there are any humans who don't eat pork?"

"Yes, some Muslims don't eat pork," Yu Luo honestly shot back, leaving the System speechless. It could only huff and say, "I'm going to sleep. You can wait for death!"

Having successfully angered the System, Yu Luo's depressed mood finally eased a little. He hugged Raikiri close, gently patted the small mound of earth with his right hand, and whispered goodnight. Then, he too, drifted off to sleep.

The deep night was silent, with only the moon casting its serene glow upon the land. The night breeze rustled past the low mound of earth and the boy leaning against the tree.

"I think I might be facing the greatest difficulty in history," Yu Luo squatted by the entrance of a ramen stall, looking like a destitute wanderer. He clutched his stomach with his right hand and spoke earnestly to the System in his mind.

"Indeed. This difficulty is enough to threaten your life," the System replied, also with a serious tone, as if contemplating the current predicament.

"Do you have any solutions? I'm willing to pay my only 5 Saint Quartz." Yu Luo's expression grew even more solemn.

"Although I really want to earn this money, unfortunately, this matter has touched upon my sales blind spot," the System said regretfully.

"Sigh..." Yu Luo let out a long sigh, covering his restless stomach. He watched a cute little girl walk by holding a skewer of steaming, fragrant dumplings and couldn't help but swallow. He said to the System, "I have a bold idea."

"Please discard your idea!" the System pleaded tearfully. "She's just a child! You beast, how could you lay hands on such a young child? Are you even human?!"

"I don't care!" Yu Luo threw a tantrum. "I haven't eaten anything for half a day, I'm starving! If this continues, I'll really have to steal from a child!"

Yu Luo was fiercely arguing with the System in his mind, oblivious to the people passing by and pointing at him.

"That outfit is so strange, is he from another country?"

"I don't know, he's a new face. It's better not to interact with him."

"Excuse me, why are you squatting here?" The owner of the light purple eyes gently crouched down in front of him, meeting his gaze. She had long black hair, adorned with a purple butterfly hairpin, and asked Yu Luo kindly.

"Oh, big sister!" A slightly younger girl next to her grabbed her sister's hand and pulled her forcefully away from Yu Luo. "Don't talk to strangers! What if he's a bad guy?"

"Shinobu, stop pulling," her sister, unable to resist her younger sister's strength, stumbled backward while softly saying to her, "There are so many people here, it's fine. Besides, he doesn't look like a bad person."

"That's why you're too kind, big sister." The girl named Shinobu stopped her actions and said to her sister, "You stand here, I'll go ask."

"Don't go too far," her sister smiled at her younger sister. Shinobu waved her hand, signaling she understood, and trotted up to Yu Luo. She looked down at him and asked rudely, "Hey, why are you squatting here? You're making me afraid to go in and eat noodles."

Yu Luo rolled his eyes. Although the little loli in front of him was cute, Yu Luo, who was suffering from intense hunger, had no patience for children. He mimicked her tone and gruffly replied, "What business is it of yours why I'm squatting here? Let me tell you, I'm a human trafficker!"

"Hmph!" Shinobu snorted and turned to her sister, who was watching her from behind. "See? I told you he's not a good person! He even admitted to being a human trafficker. Let's go tell the police."

"Kanae, Shinobu!" a voice called out from the street. The two sisters turned their heads upon hearing the call. The younger sister jumped up and waved, shouting, "Father, I'm here!"

A young man with sharp eyes spotted the sisters and walked over with quick steps, a gentle smile on his face. He ruffled his younger daughter's shoulder-length hair and said, "What are you two doing here? Mother is waiting for you to come home for dinner."

"Father, there's a bad guy here," the younger daughter pointed at Yu Luo, who was squatting in the corner watching them. "He said he's a human trafficker himself."

"Shinobu, don't point at people like that, it's impolite." The young man gently pressed down his daughter's outstretched finger. Then, he walked in front of Yu Luo, crouched down, and asked softly, "Excuse me, are you in some kind of trouble? Perhaps I can help you."

"Uh..." Yu Luo was speechless. He felt too embarrassed to say he had no money for food. Just then, his rebellious stomach let out a growl, unwilling to be ignored. The young man, with far more experience than the two sisters, immediately understood Yu Luo's predicament.

"So, you are a wandering ronin? If you don't mind, you're welcome to have a meal at my humble abode." The young man extended his hand to Yu Luo. Yu Luo, uncharacteristically, blushed. After all, he had just been rude to the man's younger daughter, and now he was being invited for a meal.

"Cough... Thank you." Yu Luo coughed to cover his embarrassment and stood up, leaning against the wall. He thanked the father of the two sisters.

The young man smiled slightly and said reassuringly, "It's not easy to be out on your own. If I can help, I will. There's no need for thanks."

"Cough cough..." Yu Luo coughed again to mask his awkwardness. The two sisters walked in front, the young man in the middle, and Yu Luo, with a thick face, walked at the very back, heading towards their home.

Along the way, people smiled and greeted the man and the two sisters. Some even smiled at Yu Luo, who was following behind. This made Yu Luo truly feel how well-liked this family was in town. He subconsciously tucked Raikiri, hidden inside his clothes, further in.

"You're really thick-skinned to come to my house for a free meal," the younger sister said to Yu Luo, who was walking behind her. Yu Luo pretended not to hear. Since he had already decided to be shameless, he wasn't going to give up a free lunch because of a little loli's taunts.

"Shinobu, you shouldn't say such rude things to a guest!" The young man lightly reprimanded his daughter. The little loli pouted, said nothing, and quickened her pace indignantly.
