Yu Luo had no choice. Under the threat of being turned into a eunuch, he could only jump back. It was this step that allowed the demon to seize the opportunity. It had looked like it couldn't get up, but now it rose on one leg, pushed off with its foot, and smashed a large hole in the wall. It turned its back on Yu Luo and fled, disappearing before his eyes.

"You're not going anywhere!" Yu Luo roared, pulling out another Heroic Spirit Card. Amidst a silver glow, he donned a black cowboy outfit, a revolver in hand, and aimed at the demon's head.

"Noble Phantasm, Bad Beat!"

"Bang! Bang! Bang!" Three loud gunshots echoed through the night, shattering the town's deathly silence. Many residents were awakened from their dreams, but none dared to come out and investigate. The occasional cry of a baby was quickly silenced.

Three bullets formed of Magic, moving faster than the eye could see, traced three different paths through the air. At three bizarre angles, they caught up to the demon, which was hopping away on one leg a hundred meters away. They struck its monstrous head almost simultaneously.

"Crack!" Like a bursting watermelon, its massive head exploded into fragments. Red blood and white brain matter splattered outwards like fireworks. Yu Luo, satisfied, holstered his revolver and prepared to inspect the demon's corpse. However, to his surprise, the headless demon did not die. It continued to run forward as if unaffected.

Under the moonlight, a headless corpse hopped away on its only remaining leg, looking incredibly bizarre. Anyone who saw this scene unaware might have fainted from fright.

"Damn it!" Yu Luo wanted to draw his revolver and unleash another Noble Phantasm, but Billy the Kid's Transformation Energy had been completely depleted by the previous Noble Phantasm. Yu Luo could only dejectedly cancel the transformation. With his current physical condition, he absolutely couldn't catch up to this demon that only had one leg left.

Not only that, but dense flesh buds suddenly sprouted from the demon's bare neck, growing at a visible rate. In just a few seconds, a massive head reappeared on the demon's neck, identical to the one Yu Luo had blown off earlier.

"Is this the immortality of demons?" Seeing this, Yu Luo recalled the System's mission stating that demons were immortal. This regeneration of the head perfectly validated the System's words.

"Can demons truly only be killed by sunlight?"

Just as Yu Luo could only watch helplessly as the demon escaped, it was as if even the gods above couldn't bear it. A flail suddenly flew out of the darkness, wrapping around the demon's single leg and tripping it.

"Ah, someone has already fallen victim. How truly sorrowful." A monk with a string of prayer beads around his neck emerged from the darkness. A long scar ran across his forehead, and he wore a brown kasaya. Tears streamed from his dull eyes, his face filled with sorrow. In his right hand, he held a hand axe, a long chain attached to its handle. At the other end of the chain was the flail that had ensnared the demon.

"Roar!" The demon, seeing the monk who had suddenly appeared, became panicked. Its remaining left hand grabbed the chain connected to the flail and desperately pulled, hoping to break free. But alas, its efforts were in vain. The sorrowful, weeping monk before him was completely unfazed; the demon's strength seemed nonexistent to him.

"How sorrowful it is to become a demon. Allow me to guide you to salvation." The monk slowly walked up to the panicked demon and clasped his hands together. Yu Luo also walked up to the monk's side. Hearing the monk speak, he immediately became anxious and was about to speak, but the monk had already begun his rite.

"Go to reincarnation." The monk sadly uttered these words, then gripped the chain with his right hand, swinging the axe high. With a whistling sound, it struck the demon's neck heavily. Blood splattered, and a round object rolled far across the ground – the demon's head, its monstrous face still bearing a look of panic.

"Uh..." Yu Luo was momentarily speechless, only managing to blurt out, "Physical salvation. Your Buddhist teachings are truly profound."

Whether it was some technique the monk used or the weapon itself, the demon, which could regrow its head even after it was blown to smithereens, only trembled weakly after being decapitated. It then slowly dissipated into black smoke. The severed head also vanished into smoke, leaving no trace behind. Only the blood on the ground silently testified to what had happened.

The suddenly appearing monk turned to Yu Luo. His dull eyes fixed on him, and he clasped his hands together, praising, "Though an ordinary person, you possess the strength to fight demons. Truly astonishing." Despite the praise, tears still streamed from his dull eyes.

Yu Luo felt incredibly awkward and quipped, "With you crying like that, I thought I had died heroically in battle with the demon. Are you here for my memorial service?"

"I am truly sorry. I will be mindful." The monk said this, but the tears on his face showed no sign of stopping. Yu Luo sighed helplessly, deciding to just treat him as a man made of water.

"Never mind, I'll go bury the victims," Yu Luo said to the monk. The monk, still shedding tears, nodded as he followed Yu Luo.

"Allow me to lend a humble effort."

Yu Luo, wearing his original clothes with Raikiri tucked into his belt, looked at the house that was now riddled with holes, his emotions low. Who would have thought that just half a day ago, this was a warm little home? The master and mistress were good people, and they had two adorable daughters.

Yu Luo walked into the courtyard. Disregarding the blood and stench, he dragged the two mangled corpses into the courtyard. Although he tried his best to piece their bodies back together, the demon had eaten parts of them. In the end, Yu Luo couldn't restore their original appearance.

"Water Monk, help me dig two graves. You look strong, so it shouldn't be a problem for you," Yu Luo said to the monk standing nearby. After all, he was just an ordinary person, and this task had exhausted him. He finally sat down amidst the mess inside the room, using a piece of the door as a makeshift seat.

"Water Monk? Are you referring to me?"

"Who else?" Yu Luo leaned back against the wardrobe, saying to the monk with an air of calm, "I don't know your name, so I had to give you a nickname. It suits you quite well."

"I apologize for not introducing myself. It was my oversight." The monk clasped his hands together and bowed to Yu Luo. The bright moonlight shone upon his kasaya. "I am Gyomei Himejima, the Stone Pillar of the Demon Slayer Corps."

"You're from the Demon Slayer Corps?!" Yu Luo's spirits immediately lifted. He sat up straight and stared intently at Gyomei Himejima. "Can you let me join the Demon Slayer Corps too? I want to kill demons."

"Yes." Gyomei Himejima nodded easily. "The Demon Slayer Corps is an organization dedicated to exterminating demons. As long as you have the will, you can participate in the selection process and join the Demon Slayer Corps."

"I want to join the Demon Slayer Corps too!" As soon as Gyomei Himejima finished speaking, Yu Luo heard a familiar voice from inside the wardrobe he was leaning against. Then, he received a heavy blow to the back of his head, sending him crashing to the ground.

"I want to join the Demon Slayer Corps with my sister!" Another familiar voice followed. Hearing these two familiar voices, Yu Luo forgot the pain in the back of his head and happily rolled over. Two girls with light purple eyes and butterfly hairpins stood inside the wardrobe, looking resolutely at Gyomei Himejima standing outside the house.

"Is this truly wise? Lives that were just saved." Gyomei Himejima looked up, his dull eyes fixed on the sisters. He advised, "Your parents, before they died, surely wished for you to live well and spend the rest of your lives as ordinary people."

However, facing Gyomei Himejima's persuasion, the sisters' resolute expressions remained unchanged. The elder sister stepped forward, her gentle voice carrying a firm resolve. "I want to be like him and possess the power to protect others. Please let me join the Demon Slayer Corps too!"

Under the moonlight, the orphaned girls displayed their firm determination, their eyes fixed on Gyomei Himejima in the moonlight, awaiting his reply.
