The fourth floor of the Command Tower was under even tighter lockdown. The officer did not take Sun Hang and the others directly into the command room, but instead brought over a computer connected to the surveillance system.
"The hijackers have forbidden anyone from entering the command room, so I can't take you inside," the officer said helplessly. "If you're here to handle this matter, then I need to know your detailed plan. You must tell us every step and detail of your operation... Of course, we'll cooperate with your actions as much as possible."
Sun Hang glanced at the surveillance footage on the screen. Two chairs stood facing each other in the center of the command room, roughly three meters apart. The base commander sat in one chair, his hands and feet bound. A delicate-looking young man sat in the other, holding an exquisite, compact pistol aimed directly at the commander's vital spot.
Elsewhere in the room, tables, chairs, crates, and cabinets had been overturned and piled into makeshift barricades. A group of bodyguard-like figures in black suits, bulletproof vests, and tactical sunglasses hid behind them, aiming their automatic weapons at the command room entrance.
Behind a barricade farther back, one of the people in black had a bandage wrapped around his leg. This was probably the injured person the officer had mentioned.
Most of the surveillance cameras in the command room had been destroyed. Only a few well-hidden cameras were still working.
Sun Hang counted them. Including the young man and the injured person, there were exactly seventeen people involved in the hijacking, perfectly matching the Special Operations Team sent down from above.
