"So, where's the entrance?" Sun Hang asked.
Noor untied the skis strapped to his feet and began wandering aimlessly across the dune. With every step, his legs sank deeper into the sand. Before long, the sand had risen past his knees, and walking became extremely difficult.
But in the very next second, Noor's body was instantly swallowed by the dune, vanishing before Sun Hang's eyes.
"This is the entrance?"
Sun Hang did not hesitate for long before immediately following him.
At the spot where Noor had disappeared, the "buoyancy" provided by the sand beneath his feet was practically negligible. Sun Hang only felt the ground vanish beneath him before his entire body dropped into an incredibly smooth pipe, sliding rapidly toward the depths underground.
After sliding for nearly five hundred meters, Sun Hang felt as though he had struck an exceptionally tough membrane. Yet instead of bouncing him back, the membrane began to liquefy the instant he touched it—it was like a combination of a speed bump and a filter screen. As he passed through it, it filtered out the sand swept along with him while greatly slowing his descent.
At his original speed, an ordinary person would have suffered high-level paralysis even if they had not been killed by the impact. But with that membrane in place, the safety of this rapid passage had instantly risen by several levels.
"Based on the information currently available, this passage is most likely a Filter Feeding Pore of the Sand-Sinking Giant Worm," the Mainframe's voice sounded beside Sun Hang's ear. "What you just passed through was the filtering membrane inside the Filter Feeding Pore. This organ can distinguish between grit and food, allowing food to pass through by liquefying itself. Under normal circumstances, the organ should have withered along with the Sand-Sinking
