"So, may I ask, what is the principle behind these specially made bullets?" A bigwig seated below asked the question everyone else—including Sun Hang and Yang Lian in front of their screens—wanted answered.
The man wore a crisp military uniform. Seven rows of ribbons on his chest and the glittering stars on his epaulets attested to his immense influence. For someone of his standing, a casual remark was enough to make the upper echelons of the Xiazhou Federation tremble three times over.
Now, though, he rested his chin on his fist and studied the several differently colored bullets on the stage with great interest.
"According to Tianshu Tower's research, the memetic frequencies of anomalies are not chaotic or random. In fact, much like the periodic table of elements, the number and categories of existing memes can be determined through calculation. The only issue is that the computational workload is simply too immense. Even the most advanced supercomputers today would need tens of thousands of years to complete the task," Professor Deng explained eloquently.
"Get to the point," the bigwig said.
"Of course." Professor Deng nodded. "Since memetic frequencies follow discernible patterns and can potentially be 'artificially edited,' we can use calculations to determine which segments of a target anomaly's meme grant it specific abilities. Anomalies like Bing 499, with their extraordinary regenerative abilities, all possess a similar segment within their memes. It is precisely this segment that grants them their near-immortal nature."
"Go on."
"It took us four years and over two thousand experiments to identify the frequency of that segment," Professor Deng said. "Then, over another two years, we found a different meme in several other anomalies whose frequency was completely opposite to it—a meme capable of neutralizing this immortality meme."
"Neutralize? You mean neutralize?" Another person below spoke
