"Say, can this curse be lifted?" The Fisherman pulled a plastic ziplock bag from his pocket. Inside was the "talisman" capable of "blocking curses"—a severed finger mangled into a bloody mess.
"No. This thing can only prevent curses. Anyone who's already been cursed is beyond saving." Sun Hang shook his head.
Once the Fisherman took out the severed finger, the Indian Hunter immediately focused his attention on it. Within seconds, his expression changed from fury to fear, then from fear to despair.
He let out a shrill, bizarre scream, then turned and ran.
"Hey! Don't run! We won't hurt you!" the Fisherman shouted at once, but the Indian Hunter had no intention of stopping. In the blink of an eye, he vanished behind the building.
"Let's follow him," Sun Hang said.
"We're really chasing him?" The Fisherman hesitated. "What if it's a trap?"
"Then we kill them all," Sun Hang said decisively.
He was practically hoping they would attack him first.
As long as he confirmed they were enemies, whether he killed them or devoured their memes, Sun Hang would not feel the slightest guilt.
Anything that harbored ill will toward him, human or anomaly, deserved to die.
The three immediately gave chase—the Indian Hunter ran incredibly fast. The Fisherman and Sun Hang could barely keep up, while Yano was left far behind.
"This guy is way too fast!" the Fisherman said, breathing hard. "Fuck, is his meme ability just running?"
"No... I can sense his fear... This is potential forced out by an intense survival instinct. Put simply, he's burning through his physical strength." Sun Hang ran as he spoke. "He may be fast now, but he absolutely can't stop. The moment he does, he'll probably collapse and pass out."
"He won't just drop dead while running, will he?"
