Sun Hang picked up the container holding the rotten flesh again and raised it in front of the rearview mirror.
For some reason, he suddenly felt that the rotten flesh did not seem so disgusting anymore... He even had the urge to taste it.
"There must be something wrong with my brain."
Sun Hang sighed, set the container aside, took another bite of compressed biscuit, and forced himself to swallow it.
But just as Sun Hang swallowed that mouthful of biscuit, he suddenly realized that the "old lady" walking ahead had vanished.
The high beams were on, and everything within a hundred meters in front of the car was visible. This wasteland was not only barren, but did not even have a rock large enough to hide behind...
"Where did she go?"
Sun Hang could not help thinking of scenes from horror movies. He jumped out of the car and searched it inside and out, even checking underneath it and inside the trunk. He still found no trace of the "old lady."
"This is some real ghost shit," Sun Hang concluded.
The banknote was still there, and so was the "rice cake." At the very least, that proved none of this was an illusion.
But why had the "person" who gave him these things disappeared right before his eyes?
Sun Hang gripped the steering wheel with both hands and shut his eyes tightly.
He began reviewing every detail of his contact with the "old lady," every sentence she had said, every single word.
Yet Sun Hang could not find any useful clues...
The only thing she seemed to have repeatedly mentioned was that he must not "go hungry"...
In other words, was "hunger" a very serious problem in this place?
