The strange situation lasted a full half minute before the two little girls picked up the rattle drum and paper kite from the ground, turned around, and left.
Soon, they vanished at the end of the street.
"Boss?" Sun Hang turned toward the crack in the door and asked tentatively.
There was no response.
"Boss? Are you still there?" Sun Hang asked again.
Still no response.
Even a blind man could tell that there was something strange about those two little girls—compared with the "worthless" townspeople, they were clearly very special beings.
What puzzled Sun Hang, however, was that he had obviously been the one to "offend" them, yet they had ultimately targeted the "shopkeeper," who had shown them no hostility whatsoever...
What was this? Did strange entities also bully the weak and fear the strong?
But he did not count as strong, either.
His meme abilities were completely gone, and those mysterious "trump cards" had vanished too. Aside from the period just after he woke up in the hospital, this was the weakest Sun Hang had ever been. Other than the hunting pistol in the shoulder holster beneath his arm, his remaining combat ability was practically negligible.
This place was clearly a world where the strong preyed on the weak. That much was obvious from how the "shopkeeper" had casually killed the townspeople in the street. But if that was the case, why had the "shopkeeper" conducted a fair and honest trade with a powerless man like him instead of simply killing him and taking his things?
Could outsiders have privileges that placed them above everyone else in this bizarre town?
Strange entities? Worshipping foreigners?
Those two utterly unrelated phrases collided in Sun Hang's mind.
"This is getting ridiculous..."
Sun Hang shook his head and reached out to push
