Did this count as another kind of "wish fulfillment"?
Sun Hang walked out of the apartment building, squatted by the entrance to the residential complex for a while, then took out his phone and called Pei Zongjun.
"Hello, old man Pei. Do you have any real cases involving emotions, malicious thoughts, and similar things inducing ordinary people to anomalize? Send me some."
Five minutes later, an email marked "Top Secret" arrived on Sun Hang's phone.
The moment Sun Hang opened the email, a thirty-minute countdown appeared in the upper-right corner of the screen. Its glaring bright-red numbers were impossible to miss.
This was a "burn after reading" email. It could not be saved or forwarded, and once the countdown ended, all data would be deleted.
"What a pointless hassle..." Sun Hang casually remarked.
Its confidentiality function was basically negligible. Anyone authorized to read secrets at this level would definitely delete them after reading them, so there was no need for it to do it automatically... As for preventing leaks, merely prohibiting saving, forwarding, and editing was useless...
You could photograph the screen with another phone or write things down with pen and paper... There were too many ways to preserve its contents. Not to mention anything else, the surveillance cameras at the entrance to the residential complex could clearly capture what was on Sun Hang's phone screen.
The thing's only purpose was probably to make things difficult for people... If it encountered someone who read slowly, or someone accustomed to thinking while reading, it would be rather ridiculous if the data got deleted by the "self-destruct program" before they finished reading...
Sun Hang moved into a blind spot beneath a surveillance camera and scrolled down through the email.
The first case Pei Zongjun had sent occurred at Shencheng
