"I have a question," Sun Hang suddenly asked. "Who are you?"
The characters on the glass curtain wall flickered a few times, but no new text appeared.
"Are you Chimera Seventeen?" Sun Hang asked again.
The mottled patches of color on the glass curtain wall grew more numerous, but the other party still gave no clear response.
"Do you know Anna?" Sun Hang tried asking. "Anna Demoshina."
It would have been better if he had not asked. The moment Anna's name was mentioned, it seemed to trigger some crucial mechanism. The pedestrians on the street, who had previously acted as if Sun Hang did not exist, suddenly came to a halt. One after another, they turned around, their pitch-black eyes devoid of whites staring fixedly at him.
"Getting worked up?" Sun Hang asked in a faintly mocking tone. "You seem... very sensitive to that name?"
The moment he finished speaking, the human-like yet inhuman creatures filling the street lunged at Sun Hang, creating a scene much like the Shibuya Crossing sequence in the movie Resident Evil: Afterlife.
But Sun Hang was not the film's female protagonist with only two little pistols.
Thanks to Anna's earlier warning, the moment Sun Hang arrived here, he had tested his ability—the ability had not been sealed. That meant that even if this was an illusion, it was not the kind of special illusion that separated Sun Hang's consciousness from his body.
A silver thread thinner than a strand of hair extended from Sun Hang's fingertip. Then, it instantly stretched into the distance—Sun Hang casually turned around, and the silver thread, now hundreds of meters long, used him as its center to draw a circle with a radius of several hundred meters across the street.
The creatures within that circular area froze for a moment.
