"No." Sun Hang lightly flicked the lucky charm hanging beneath the rearview mirror. "I was just guessing. Any resemblance is purely coincidental."
"Heh. Forget it if you won't tell me." The low rumble of a four-cylinder engine came through the comms channel. Yang Qiaoxi's motorcycle suddenly accelerated, instantly widening the distance between herself and the off-road vehicle.
"Is she mad?" Sun Hang turned to look at Candle Dragon.
"No, that's just how she is." Candle Dragon shook his head and pressed down on the accelerator as well. "After all these years, she's still the same."
"I'm even more interested in your past now," Sun Hang said. "Just to be clear, I'm not gossiping. The road's just too boring, and I want something to talk about."
"You want to hear it?" Yang Qiaoxi's voice came through again.
"I do." Sun Hang gave an affirmative answer.
"In short, it can be summed up in four words."
"Which four?"
"Used and discarded."
"Wow." Sun Hang deliberately drew out the word. "Do tell."
"Sure. Pay up." A trace of amusement hid in Yang Qiaoxi's voice.
"Candle Dragon, you choose." Sun Hang said. "Will you tell me yourself, or will you pay Boss Yang to tell me the story?"
"Why am I the one paying?" Candle Dragon asked in confusion.
"We can't swipe cards out here in the wilderness, and there's no signal to transfer money by phone. Besides, if I remember right, Boss Yang only takes cash, doesn't she?"
Yang Qiaoxi said, "Mm-hmm."
"Unfortunately, I never carry cash, so we can only use yours." Sun Hang smiled at Candle Dragon. "I'll reimburse you after the mission... Oh, I mean after we get back from Egypt."
Candle Dragon smiled helplessly, pressed down on the accelerator again, and slightly closed the gap with Yang Qiaoxi's motorcycle.
