After entering the stadium, Cheng Ming was guided by a staff member to the basketball gym. After filling out a simple form, the staff member told him to wait in the gym's lounge. The lounge was not particularly large, with only a dozen or so Hunters assigned to it. In one corner stood two freezers packed with assorted drinks and ice cream. Beside them was a serving cart divided into three tiers. The top two tiers held delicate pastries and cold dishes, while the bottom tier contained high-end-looking metal cutlery and bone china plates trimmed with gold.
Several Hunters had already gathered around it. Too lazy to use cutlery, they grabbed the desserts with their hands and stuffed them into their mouths, commenting on their texture and flavor as they ate. Some went even further, picking up entire platters of a single type of food and taking them aside to enjoy alone, drawing complaints and rebukes from the other Hunters.
"Tch, a bunch of country bumpkins from the middle of nowhere. No worldly experience at all." A young male Hunter sat down not far from Cheng Ming, frowning at the Hunters crowding around the serving cart.
"Exactly. Just some prepackaged desserts and frozen dishes heated in a microwave, and they're treating them like treasure." A blonde-haired Huntress chimed in. "How embarrassing... Being put in the same room as these people is such bad luck."
