There were three skills that could be obtained from Immortal Salamander Extract.

The "Poison Skin" skill covered the body's skin in deadly poison. The Immortal Salamander's venom had evolved from tetrodotoxin; contact alone could cause poisoning, and its toxicity was intense, gradually paralyzing the victim until death.

"Giant Tail Strike" was a powerful offensive skill. Its effect was clear from the name, but since humans had no tails, they used their legs in place of tails when activating this skill.

As for "Regenerative Body," it was Su Ze's dream skill. It was also what allowed the Immortal Salamander to rank among S-grade creatures, and could be called the most "shameless" skill among Tier 2 Exotic Beast skills.

Regenerative Body: Grants the flesh powerful regenerative abilities, allowing it to rapidly recover from any bodily injury. It can also condense a "Regeneration Core" anywhere within the body. When the Regeneration Core shatters, the life energy contained within will instantly heal all injuries throughout the body.

Put simply, Regenerative Body could be understood as having both a "passive" and an "active" effect.

Its passive effect enhanced the body's self-healing ability. No matter how severe the injury, as long as one did not die, one could recover. Even severed hands and legs could grow back.

Its active effect allowed one to condense a "Regeneration Core" containing an enormous amount of life energy anywhere in the body. Once the location of the Regeneration Core was decided, it could not be moved unless it shattered and a new one was condensed.

Once the Regeneration Core shattered, the life energy that poured out would instantly heal all injuries throughout the body. He could either control it to shatter actively, or it could be shattered by an attack.

However, once the Regeneration Core shattered, condensing a new one took a great deal of time. In other words, this skill had a very long cooldown.

It was no exaggeration to say that possessing this skill was equivalent to having an extra life.

It was clear that although they were both S-grade skills, a Tier 2 S-grade skill was obviously stronger than the Tier 1 S-grade skill Su Ze already possessed.

Although Su Ze desperately wanted this skill, he was not certain that he would obtain it.

He just did not know whether he would still be able to choose his skill freely this time.

If not, then he could only leave it to luck—one random choice from three skills.

He liked multiple-choice questions, not lotteries.

Su Ze was overjoyed. This ability was no less useful than Divine Grace of Evolution, and paired with Divine Grace of Evolution, it was downright monstrous!

He reined in his thoughts and focused on the three clumps of orange mist in the blank world.

These three clumps of orange mist were far larger than the ones he had seen when absorbing Rock Scorpion Extract last time, and their color was deeper as well. That orange Evolutionary Light seemed almost tangible.

From the largest clump of orange mist, Su Ze sensed vigorous life force. Without question, this clump of mist represented the skill "Regenerative Body."

There was nothing to hesitate over. Su Ze plunged headfirst into that clump of mist. The next moment, his consciousness returned to his body, and he slowly opened his eyes.

"How was it?" Liu Wenyin asked concernedly. She had already seen that Su Ze had successfully absorbed the extract. What she wanted to know now was which skill he had obtained.

"Not bad luck. I got the Regenerative Body skill." Su Ze grinned, unable to hide his delight.

He could feel every cell in his body brimming with surging vitality!

"Really?!" Liu Wenyin cried out. A smile immediately spread across her face as she sincerely felt happy for Su Ze.

"Yeah!" Su Ze nodded and asked, "Sis, this skill requires condensing a Regeneration Core inside my body. Where would be the best place to put it?"

Liu Wenyin brushed back the hair hanging in front of her ear and pondered for a moment, as though retrieving relevant knowledge from the vast database in her mind.

After a moment, she replied, "There really is a trick to this. Humans and Immortal Salamanders have different body structures. Even if an Immortal Salamander has its head cut off or its heart shattered, it will not die. But even if human Evolvers obtain the Regenerative Body skill, those two places are still vital points."

Su Ze had guessed as much and nodded. "In other words, if my heart ruptures or my head is smashed, I'll die immediately."

"Right. Although you can actively shatter the Regeneration Core, sometimes danger comes too quickly for you to react. For example, if an enemy directly smashes your head, you die instantly. You would have no chance to shatter the Regeneration Core."

"So I suggest that you condense the Regeneration Core in your brain or heart... No, the brain would be better than the heart."

Su Ze understood Liu Wenyin's meaning. If he placed the Regeneration Core in his brain, then even if his brain was smashed, the Regeneration Core inside it would shatter as well. He would not need to break it himself, making it equivalent to passively triggering the skill.

That way, even if he was shot in the head before he could react, he could still come back to life once.

The same logic applied if he placed it in his heart.

But why was the brain a better choice than the heart?

Liu Wenyin answered, "Because the brain is more important than the heart. If your head is smashed, you'll immediately lose consciousness. If your heart ruptures, you might still retain consciousness for a brief moment. With that time, you can still actively shatter the Regeneration Core."

If you're beheaded, your final remaining consciousness can shatter the Regeneration Core in your brain and help reconstruct the parts of your body below the neck, allowing you to survive. But if the Regeneration Core is in your heart, the moment your head falls off, you die immediately."

Su Ze felt that Liu Wenyin's words made a great deal of sense. He was someone who took good advice, so he immediately decided to condense the Regeneration Core in his brain.

At Su Ze's current speed, condensing a Regeneration Core would take about a month. However, he had just absorbed Immortal Salamander Extract, which still contained a great deal of vitality and undigested energy that could directly help him condense a Regeneration Core.

A moment later, a pure white core the size of a fingernail, formed entirely from life force, appeared within Su Ze's brain. This Regeneration Core existed somewhere between material and immaterial, causing no interference to his brain. He carefully sensed it and found no discomfort.

Instead, the presence of the Regeneration Core gave him a greater sense of security.
