The next day, Russell took Charles to Fluorite Castle.
Charles went to hire a Bee Keeper, while Russell went to the castle to report his gains to Baron Roman—the Red-eyed Rat King.
His elder brother Roland had gone to the estates below to oversee the planting, so he was unable to share in Russell's joy at the moment.
However, the baron and his wife listened to Russell's account over lunch.
"My son has always been watched over by the dragon, Roman." Madam Meryl was filled with delight after hearing it. "Now we no longer need to worry about Russell. The young eagle will soon grow full wings and soar into the sky."
"Yes, yes." Baron Roman's smile was somewhat forced.
It was not that he was not happy about his son's good fortune. Rather, he had become so happy that he was numb to it, even left speechless.
The first time Russell came to tell him that he had picked up a Birch Worm, he thought the boy was quite lucky.
The second time, Russell said he had saved a Half Ghost Beast and Eric had advanced to Phantom Beast Knight. That could only be called the dragon's favor.
The third time, Russell killed Lone Wolf Lisbon and reclaimed a Blood Fang Fungus Bug. He had been pleased to see it; magical creatures could only be held in the hands of nobles.
The fourth time Russell came again and said he had picked up a Dandelion Bug. Baron Roman had not been there at the time, but after hearing about it upon his return, he had been shocked and had not wanted to comment.
And now, Russell had actually said that he had caught another Phantom Beast and even found a wild swarm of Origin Beast bees along with it.
