Tang Nian guided Lin Zhao through a Dao Seeking Ritual beneath the Dragon God Tree, where Lin Zhao formed an equal contract with a Crimson Flame Leopard and helped repel an Abyssal invasion. Months later, Lin Zhao became known as the Dao Seeking New Star, while Tang Nian continued teaching a path built on empathy and protecting all life.

• Tang Nian brought Lin Zhao and representatives from Shrek Academy, the Hall of Emotions, and the Butterfly Heart Society to the Star Dou Great Forest for Lin Zhao's Dao Seeking Ritual.
• During the ritual, the Jade Swan's remnant soul merged with Lin Zhao's soul ring, and Lin Zhao formed an equal contract with an injured Crimson Flame Leopard.
• An Abyssal Lord's projection opened a rift above the forest, and Lin Zhao joined Tang Nian and the gathered humans and Soul Beasts in driving it back with the Myriad Spirits Great Array.
• Months later, Lin Zhao defeated a six-ring opponent at Shrek Academy's New Generation Grand Competition by using his contract's resonance to calm the opponent's Thunder Leopard, earning the title of Dao Seeking New Star.
• Lin Zhao vowed at the Sea God Stele to keep walking the Dao Seeking path, and Tang Nian promised Huo Yun'er that he would continue teaching.
