Aglaea, Bai Fei, and Mydei, meanwhile, licked their lips with lingering satisfaction. This cuisine, so different from Amphoreus's, had truly hooked them.
"As expected of visitors from beyond the heavens—your food really is better than Amphoreus's!"
Bai Fei rubbed her little belly contentedly, clearly having enjoyed herself. But Aglaea's expression changed upon hearing that, and she wanted to warn Bai Fei. Then she noticed Mydei's gaze and let out a sigh.
"What? Miss Bai Fei, weren't you traveling with the Trailblazers?"
Mydei crossed his arms and looked at Bai Fei with a complicated expression. His words made her beautiful eyes fly open, while the cat ears atop her head and the cat tail behind her instantly stood on end...
She realized she had said something she should not have...
"I-I..."
Bai Fei was genuinely panicking now. She looked pleadingly toward Theresa and Aglaea.
"Stop pretending, Miss Bai Fei. Or should I say, the savior of Amphoreus."
"I never imagined you would become like this..."
Mydei had intended to scold Bai Fei, but seeing her flustered yet adorable appearance, harsh words surged in his heart, yet he simply could not bring himself to say them...
Mydei's words changed Bai Fei's expression. She pressed her lips together as though she wanted to explain something, but when she saw his complicated look, her pretty face flushed. She lowered her head and stopped trying to defend herself.
"Mydei, Bai Fei—Phainon—didn't want this either..."
"She became like this for certain reasons, so we had no choice but to hide it from you."
Aglaea also sighed and explained Phainon's awkward situation to Mydei.
