Alice and Nicole listened to the Stellaron Hunters' explanation and exchanged a glance.
They decided to sound them out, but since the others were all absurdly powerful Descenders, their so-called probing was really just satisfying their curiosity.
"Then, based on what you've explained, may we ask a few questions?"
"After all, you're all Descenders from beyond this world. How unusual is that?"
"So, could you indulge our curiosity?"
"Come, everyone, please sit. Whatever else, you're our guests. Let's take our time and talk."
As Alice spoke, she waved away Jean's desk and replaced it with an ornate-looking tea table, laid with all sorts of exquisite pastries and a large pot of richly fragrant black tea.
With a snap of Alice's fingers, the teapot floated into the air and began pouring tea for everyone.
The Stellaron Hunters sat down, and Old Yang thought for a moment.
"Then, what would you like to ask, Miss Alice? However, I must state in advance that you'll have to forgive me if I cannot answer questions concerning the Stellaron Hunters' private affairs."
Old Yang wanted to prevent the two witches from asking private questions that would be difficult for everyone to answer. He would absolutely not reveal certain critical matters concerning the Astral Express.
For instance, the specific ways to operate the Astral Express, or secrets the Stellaron Hunters were unwilling to disclose.
"Of course. We of the Hexenzirkel would never be so presumptuous."
"Then, shall I begin?"
Alice looked at Old Yang as she asked, and he adjusted his glasses and nodded.
"Please do."
Old Yang simply picked up his black tea and took a sip, indicating that she could ask.
"You're all together, I assume? What exactly should we call you?"
Alice asked her first question. This was her probe.
