Alhaitham asked the three Meme God Kings as they came down. He was curious about what they planned to do after escaping their imprisonment.
"Hmm... hard to say."
"Perhaps take a good look at whether the world has changed much. Though I'm quite certain it must have changed a great deal."
"Take the vegetation growing in from outside, for example. I remember that before His Majesty imprisoned us in Aaru, wasn't this a desert kingdom?"
"Times may have changed, but could the desert really have become an oasis?"
Tut, the King of the Ibis, voiced what puzzled him most. Their bodies had been imprisoned inside the Aaru Device for a very, very long time, in something like deep hibernation. Only their minds could remain active, also thanks to the Aaru Device.
Although everything within the golden slumber felt so real, the three of them had still grown tired of it after staying there so long.
So, long ago, they had tried to move their consciousnesses out of the Aaru Device. Unfortunately-or perhaps King Deshret had anticipated this all along-he had placed restrictions around the Aaru Device that pulled their spiritual consciousnesses back into Aaru whenever they strayed too far from their bodies.
But that could not stop them, because they came up with a new method!
Even if leaving the Mausoleum of King Deshret with their intangible minds was out, they could use desert magic!
So the three of them used magic to lure in small animals, then lodged their consciousnesses within them-in other words, possession.
After possessing the little animals, the three excitedly controlled their new bodies and tried to leave the Mausoleum of King Deshret. They had been so excited then, thinking they would truly be free!
