"Heh heh..."
Xu Yanwu was weakly pinned to a cliff face by the sea by Chi You's beast horns. The blood dripping from his wounds touched the ground and was instantly absorbed, staining the earth a permanent red.
(PS: Cough, cough, you didn't miss a chapter... It's just that I can't handle such a grand scene right now... You'll have to imagine it yourselves...)
The allied tribal forces suffered more than half their casualties, and the rest retreated to the Xuanyuan Tribe in despair.
Ji Lin, Cang Xuan, and Danzhu, while entangled with Chi You, were swallowed whole by the beast, along with a corner of the land by the sea.
As for Xu Yanwu... he was completely crushed by Chi You, whose strength surpassed that of an ordinary Herrscher. Now, he was pinned to the cliff, unable to move.
(Cough... I believe in your imagination... [Shamelessly])
"Herrscher of the End... Honkai Will... I know you're watching, damn it..."
Xu Yanwu said weakly, "If you have the guts, come out... You wanted to kill me, didn't you? Come on..."
After Xu Yanwu said this, a female voice suddenly appeared.
"...Chi You, release him first."
"Yes..." Chi You slowly took two steps back and pulled its horns out of Xu Yanwu's body.
Xu Yanwu's body rapidly shrunk back to its normal human size, and he fell from the air, crashing onto the ground.
Above Chi You's head, a faint female phantom flickered in and out of existence. It moved from Chi You's head to a spot not far from Xu Yanwu, then sat directly in the void, looking down at Xu Yanwu, who was struggling to get up.
"God from another world, this is our third meeting."
The large holes in Xu Yanwu's abdomen healed at a visible speed. Finally gaining enough strength, Xu Yanwu managed to get up and sit by the cliff face.
"Third meeting? I have no desire to see you, and right now, all I want is to find a way to kill you..."
Xu Yanwu stared intently at the phantom before him. If it hadn't appeared, how could Ji Lin and the others have been swallowed by Chi You, their fates unknown?
The phantom's face was indistinct, but Xu Yanwu could feel it looking at him.
"Your eyes carry human emotions. Do you hate me?" the phantom's voice was very calm.
"Human emotions are the most useless things. You shouldn't possess them."
Xu Yanwu spat. "But the first two times I met you, you would get angry at me."
The phantom answered without hesitation: "That was the residual emotion of that body. It has nothing to do with me. As God (Honkai), I don't need emotions."
"You are also a god, you shouldn't have human emotions."
The phantom pointed at Xu Yanwu: "Controlled by your emotions, even after tens of thousands of years, after regaining your body, you still can't unleash your divine power. This is the best proof."
"God... are you talking about me? That I am a god?"
Xu Yanwu laughed self-mockingly.
"A god who is currently lying here like a beggar? Are you kidding me? If I were a god..."
Xu Yanwu's gaze towards the phantom held no trace of hidden hatred.
"The first thing I'd do is tear you apart!"
The phantom, however, did not take Xu Yanwu's words to heart.
"You possess a divine body, immortal and indestructible. You command rules, your words become reality, and your wishes are fulfilled."
"Yet, simply because of useless human emotions, you can't even unleash one percent of this power."
"You even go so far as to help humans."
"You are utterly unworthy of divine power."
The phantom made a final judgment: "I will seal you away forever, never to appear in this world again."
But Xu Yanwu laughed.
"I suddenly had an idea, a very bold idea... What if all my emotions were stored in my heart..."
The phantom inquired.
"What are you laughing about?"
Xu Yanwu tugged at his shirt, revealing his well-built chest.
"You just said that I can't unleash my power solely because of emotions, right?"
"What do you want to do?" The phantom felt something was wrong.
Xu Yanwu raised his right hand and pointed it at his chest.
"As you wish... How did that saying go?"
Xu Yanwu's hand pierced his chest as if it were paper, and he grasped his beating heart.
"'I am a heartless killer'... something like that?"
With a mocking smile, Xu Yanwu said, "Let's just call it a joke."
"Chi You! Stop him!"
The phantom commanded, and Chi You raised its foot to stomp down on Xu Yanwu.
"Too late."
Thump, thump.
He pulled his right hand from his chest, bringing out a still-beating pink heart, with blood vessels still connected to the cavity in Xu Yanwu's chest.
Xu Yanwu glanced at his heart.
"I originally thought my heart might be a bit prettier."
Chi You's foot hung suspended in mid-air, as if being held up by something.
"My strength hasn't increased much, but my energy absorption feels more like... plunder?"
Looking at the wilting seaside vegetation not far away, and the black hole-like cavity in his chest devouring energy, Xu Yanwu understood. "It really is different."
"Go find Chi Yuan yourself." Xu Yanwu tossed the heart into the air, where it transformed into a shooting star flying towards the Xuanyuan tribe.
"Alright, now it's our time."
Xu Yanwu stood up straight, his expressionless face stating, "I can't hold on for long, so let's finish this quickly."
------Inside Chi You------
"Danzhu! Cang Xuan! Are you alright?"
After Ji Lin slew the Honkai Beasts attacking Cang Xuan and Danzhu with the Xuanyuan Sword, she led the two of them away from the Honkai Beasts' sight.
"We're okay, it's just... it seems we've been swallowed by Chi You," Cang Xuan observed their surroundings.
Danzhu glanced back and said anxiously, "Let's not talk about that now! The pack of Honkai Beasts is catching up!"
As the three ran past a corner, a figure directly pulled them into the shadows.
"Stay here and don't run around. I'll block them, and they won't attack you."
It was a figure with a curvaceous body, and Danzhu felt an inexplicable sense of familiarity...
------Xuanyuan Tribe------
"Get out of the way! Don't stop me!"
The Shennong Ruler, imbued with anger, struck down heavily. Even Chi Yuan, skilled in martial arts, had to evade this attack.
From the retreating people, Lianshan learned of Ji Lin's disaster. A nerve in his brain snapped, and he grabbed his Shennong Ruler, charging towards the seaside.
