Finals

My final exams were at the end of this month. If I didn't study, I'd really fail my courses. Even if I wasn't aiming for a scholarship, I couldn't be taking make-up exams next semester...

If I had to take make-up exams, that would mean I was really in trouble. Then I'd be in trouble from now on...

So there was really no way around it this month.
