Ronan activated the skill, instantly becoming terrifying in the enemies' eyes. The bloodstains on his body seemed to come alive, writhing across his skin. Startled, the enemy soldiers involuntarily retreated.
For a moment, several dozen men were actually suppressed by Ronan and his mere handful of companions, but it was only temporary. Exhaustion from their injuries and depleted stamina caused a Templar Knight's legs to give way after he killed an enemy, and he was immediately knocked to the ground when the enemy seized the chance.
Seeing this, Ronan immediately rushed to his side and swung his katana, forcing several enemies back. He then ordered another Templar Knight to help him up and retreat.
Another elven knight was surrounded, his arms pinned down, before a sword pierced his throat. Ronan gained several new wounds as well. Gradually, even the stimulants could no longer suppress the weakness caused by blood loss and utter exhaustion.
After forcing back another charging soldier, Ronan looked around. There were no allies left. He was the only one still standing; the two Templar Knights, four elven knights, and two Terra soldiers had all died. Ronan gave a bitter smile, deflected a longsword, and cut down another enemy soldier.
Just as he was about to collapse, the sounds of reinforcements finally came from outside. The enemy squad commander heard them too. He had no choice but to send his remaining men to block the entrance, while he led several soldiers in an attempt to break through the defense and rush inside to kill Gogen. But Ronan had no intention of letting them succeed.
Ronan had been able to hold off the enemy for so long by relying on the terrain. By the same token, the reinforcements could not quickly break through the blockade because
