With their final two picks, LNG had no real choice. Xayah was the only ADC left, and they had determined that the opposing top laner was most likely going to be Jax, so they simply took Renekton. Little did they know that, on their final pick, EDG gave A Le Malphite!

They could have taken him, but then the team would effectively have no frontline that could hold its ground. Malphite was obviously much more satisfying, especially with so much AD damage on the other side and an Ahri who barely scratched anyone with magic damage. If they did not pick Malphite this game, even the coach would not forgive himself.

Normally speaking, Gala would definitely struggle in lane against AK. But they had successfully First Picked Mingzhu. One of this hero's skills knocked back while another chained crowd control, and her W and E were both buffs. She could give the ADC an extremely comfortable environment for dealing damage and trading HP.
