Gentle Fire Lizards carried the riders swiftly forward.
Underground, most climates were warm and humid. It was said this came from the heat of the mysterious Geothermal Furnace.
Even in the deepest caverns, faint traces of warmth lingered.
But ever since entering this stretch of tunnel, the Dragonborn had all felt varying degrees of cold.
This cold was not merely climatic; it reached into their minds.
The Dragonborn, blessed with powerful senses, were no strangers to it.
It was the warning awakened in their bloodlines after intruding into the territory of some powerful underground creature!
"Are you sure the direction is right?"
Langdu coldly questioned the Drow charging at the very front.
The Drow did not turn around. He merely answered firmly:
"That's right!"
With that, he leaped over an obstacle and picked up speed.
The Fire Lizards also sprang forward and followed him.
Watching the Drow's back, Langdu's brow furrowed slightly before eventually relaxing.
The Dragonborn were entitled to ride Fire Lizards, but the Drow were not.
That was Langdu's rule. Even if they were all soldiers of the United Legion, no one under his command could break it.
He knew that only by maintaining the Dragonborn's sense of superiority and pride at all times would they be willing to fight for him.
As for whether this would offend other races—
That was not within Langdu's consideration.
He cared only about the invincible Dragonborn Legion he had personally trained!
At first, however, he had worried that the Drow's legs might slow them down.
But very quickly, he mocked himself inwardly.
"He runs fast. I really was overthinking it."

"Especially male Drow. Heh heh, though female Drow are quite different..."
