It involved Darkrai of Newmoon Island and Cresselia of Fullmoon Island, whose relationship was rather unusual... as well as Team Rocket's elite squad that wanted to capture them, the Matori Matrix.
Under Su Hao's deliberate guidance, Cynthia and the other three decided that once night fell, they would each ride Flying Pokémon to investigate Fullmoon Island and Newmoon Island in the waters near Canalave City.
The reason they chose to act at night
was mainly because both Darkrai, which represented nightmares, and Cresselia, which represented the new moon, were deeply connected to the night.
This was the best time to search for them.
Originally, Su Hao and Cynthia had planned to each visit one island, but Lucian and Caitlin insisted on joining them.
Lucian said he had already dealt with most of his work. Otherwise, he would not have had the free time to accept the invitation to the Pokémon World Championship Open.
