His fingers ached and his head swam. Instinctively, he glanced toward the path he had run down.

In the pitch darkness, he seemed to see a female ghost with twisted limbs and a split face, glaring at him in a hideous pose.

"Although this is the Red Forbidden Zone, the supernatural incident isn't all that complicated.

Multiple ghosts do exist, but the Female Ghost is behind me. Why would Xiao Qian appear ahead of me?"

In those few moments, countless possibilities had flashed through Cheng Ming's mind, but not one involved the Xiao Qian Duyue before him being a living person.

Whatever the case, he finally struggled free of Xiao Qian's hand, turned around, and fled without hesitation.

Behind him, Xiao Qian Duyue was still calling out. She seemed to have come to the first room with some purpose in mind, possibly to find Cheng Ming.

And so, after shouting those words, she actually charged toward the Female Ghost as well.

His vision was shrouded in darkness, but his hearing had reached a new level. Cheng Ming heard everything behind him with perfect clarity.
