Only the heads of two Branch No. 10 members had been placed in plain sight on the path, as though the ghost were showing off, making the climb to the summit all the more sinister and terrifying.
It was a provocation.
Ji Li looked at the two faces, twisted hideously by overwhelming terror, without any change in his expression. He seemed indifferent to it all.
But clearly, the ghost wanted him to see them, because he was still the manager of Branch No. 10.
"Four ahead, two right."
Xiao Qian Duyue's eyes were still seeing something unknown. It was easy to imagine another head waiting there to be discovered.
This time, Xiao Qian stepped forward after speaking, apparently intending to deal with it herself.
Judging by the situation so far, the so-called Head-Pulling Fierce Ghost had no intention of truly attacking.
Although it alone had killed an unknown number of Branch No. 10 employees, it had placed their heads along the only route forward, for reasons unknown.
Ultimately, though, they posed little threat.
Despite the residual supernatural aura in these heads, it did no more than slightly disturb their minds.
Xiao Qian wanted to examine one herself, hoping to use her eyes to uncover the Head-Pulling Fierce Ghost's true purpose.
Ji Li did not object. He continued up the mountain at an unhurried pace, as though everything around him mattered little.
Ever since proposing the hunt, he had shown far less enthusiasm than the others, despite being its instigator.
It was as though his mind was not on fighting ghosts at all.
But another hand blocked Xiao Qian Duyue's path. She turned in puzzlement and saw the tall, slender figure in a black raincoat glance at her before disappearing into the thick fog.
