By the beam of the high-powered flashlight, they could see the thick layer of dust covering the monitors and control console.
Dusty cobwebs hung in the corners as well. Under the harsh light, clouds of dust rose like mist.
The teacup, desk calendar, and ashtray on the console were nearly buried beneath the dust. Worms crawled in and out of them, enough to make one's scalp tingle at a glance.
When their feet stepped onto the floor, it felt strangely soft beneath them, as though they were walking on cotton.

A bizarre crack rang out in the silent, cramped space, startling the two of them from their inspection.
