Caught off guard by Soifon's question, Ailin froze for a moment. He then glanced at her and said, "Uh, have you considered that maybe Lord Yoruichi didn't bring you because you were too weak?"
"Damn it!"
Soifon gritted her teeth and clenched her fists.
But she had to admit that Ailin might have had a point.
Whether it was Urahara Kisuke or Ailin, both of them were far stronger than she was.
"Whew..."
Slowly, Soifon took a deep breath and reined in all her other emotions.
"Captain Ailin, let's begin."
"Alright."
Seeing that Soifon had regained her composure, Ailin stopped wasting time and began explaining the theory behind Shunkō.
"Shunkō is a technique that combines Kido and Hakuda, with power comparable to other Soul Reapers' Bankai."
"Before training in Shunkō, the practitioner must first find the Kido attribute compatible with their own nature."
After that, Ailin began teaching Soifon Shunkō in the underground base.
More than a hundred years ago, Ailin had already gained experience in Soifon's Shunkō training from her Zanpakuto, Suzumebachi.
Because Shihoin Yoruichi had left, the Shunkō Soifon obtained consisted only of the basic theory Yoruichi had left behind. This led Soifon to believe that even Yoruichi herself had yet to complete Shunkō's development.
Based on the theory Yoruichi had left behind, Soifon painstakingly completed her own Shunkō over the following century.
However, because Soifon had developed it according to Yoruichi's theories, and Yoruichi's attribute was lightning, when the two met again a hundred years later, Soifon's Shunkō was still a lightning-attribute Shunkō that erupted in flashes of lightning from both shoulders.
After earning Yoruichi's recognition and receiving more of Yoruichi's insights into Shunkō, Soifon eventually completed her own wind-attribute Shunkō during the Thousand-Year Blood War—Infinite Shunkō.
Naturally, Ailin would not let Soifon take that same roundabout
