I never expected Loka to suddenly use up the paid leave it had saved for years and recommend me for this cushy acting warden position. Tsk tsk, looks like I misunderstood it before.
The slime alien thought this to itself, in an excellent mood.
This was a lucrative job with plenty of prospects, one of the best positions for padding a résumé!
That was assuming it could endure the utterly desolate environment of the Galactic Frontier.
Should I just hold another battle royale soon and rake in a pile of advertising fees?
With that thought, the slime warden immediately brought up a Holographic Screen, intending to have the person in charge of external affairs handle the matter.
Before it could open the communications interface, an emergency communication suddenly popped up and blocked its view.
"Warden, this is bad! The zerg swarm has inexplicably gone berserk, and a massive number of zerg soldiers are charging straight toward the criminals' central settlement!"
A zerg revolt?!
The slime froze, then its expression changed.
The hive was the most valuable asset on Prison Star. If anything went wrong with it, its career would be over!
The slime did not suspect that the formal warden was responsible. Zerg were inherently uncontrollable, and besides, it would not be able to escape responsibility if something happened to the hive. At most, its share of the blame would merely be lighter.
"What exactly is happening?"
"We don't know. The hive has dispatched at least seventy percent of its zerg soldiers. They suddenly began attacking Prison Star's central settlement without any warning."
The slime asked seriously, "Is there any chance those criminals could destroy the hive?"
