The Wrong Way to Play BGM

Brown, chin-length hair that looked somewhat disheveled framed his face, while his left hand expertly changed the magazine of a pistol.

In the movie, there had been as many as six Winter Soldiers, but the only one who had ever appeared—and the only one who had survived—was the man standing before him.

Captain America's best buddy, one of the sparks that ignited the Civil War, a tragic figure from beginning to end, and now a Winter Soldier brainwashed by Hydra into becoming a killing machine—Bucky Barnes!

Just as Li Congxin got a clear look at Bucky, Bucky also noticed that Li Congxin had launched an attack at him.

However, what Li Congxin shot at him was thin and small, and not very fast either. Bucky didn't think much of it. His hand never stopped changing the magazine; he merely shifted sideways slightly, avoiding the small iron rod's inevitable path.

That was exactly the reaction he wanted!

Seeing this, Li Congxin curled his lips into a smile of a scheme succeeding. His left hand moved with lightning speed and pressed the watch on his right wrist.

In the next instant, the iron rod striking Bucky suddenly swelled into a staff as thick as a goose egg. Before Bucky could react, it slammed directly into him.

"Bang!"

Caught completely off guard, Bucky was struck head-on by the suddenly enlarged staff.

If it had been an ordinary person, this blow would certainly have knocked them to the ground, leaving them completely unable to fight.

But was Bucky an ordinary person?

Of course not!

He was a genetically enhanced super soldier too!

Even when struck by the iron staff without any preparation, he merely staggered back three steps before steadying himself.

Its exterior was made of Titanium Alloy, while osmium was embedded inside to increase its weight and power. Later, Pym Particles had been incorporated into it, allowing its size to be freely controlled.

The Ruyi staff looked far from thick, but its actual weight had reached the terrifying equivalent of thirteen thousand five hundred qian!

Such a heavy iron staff, wielded by Li Congxin, carried immense force. If this blow landed squarely, even Bucky, a genetically enhanced super soldier, would have his head smashed to pieces.

At the same time, he raised the pistol whose magazine he had finished changing, clearly intending to give Li Congxin a vicious shot.

"Bang!" Li Congxin used the same trick again, employing the technique he had used against Crossbones. He sprang up and kicked Bucky's wrist, sending the pistol flying.

Without the pistol, Bucky didn't care. He simply began trading punches and kicks with Li Congxin.

The two of them each gripped one end of the Ruyi staff. With the two free legs and one free hand between them, they fought with tremendous intensity.

In the blink of an eye, Li Congxin had used his legwork to kick Bucky three times in succession—once in the calf, once in the thigh, and once in the lower abdomen. Bucky, however, seemed not to care about his injuries at all. He took all three heavy kicks head-on and still managed to land a heavy punch on Li Congxin's chest.

Li Congxin's body was ultimately no match for Bucky's. Bucky had taken three of his kicks and seemed completely fine, while Li Congxin merely took one punch before feeling his center of gravity become unstable. He could no longer hold on to the Ruyi staff and was sent flying backward by the blow.

His body crashed heavily into the control console behind him, making Li Congxin wince in pain.

This Bucky was far fiercer than the Crossbones from before!

After his battle with Crossbones, Li Congxin had felt as if he had completed some kind of sect mission. Not only had Old Master Nalan Long taught him every secret of the Shaolin Twelve Road Tan Leg, he had also passed down the Four Gates Staff Technique to him—a technique money couldn't buy.

Then, during the month or so he spent searching for Captain America, Li Congxin had listened to "Calories" every day as he traveled. His physical abilities had risen to an entirely new level.

With the two combined, plus the Ruyi staff Old Pi had forged for him, Li Congxin believed that if he encountered Crossbones again, then even if his physical abilities were still inferior, he could defeat him by relying on BGM's special properties.

But he had never expected that, when facing Bucky, he would still be completely suppressed.

This showed that certain inequalities couldn't simply be converted into one another.

It wasn't as simple as saying that Crossbones could fight Captain America to a draw, and Bucky could also fight Captain America to a draw, then blindly assuming that Crossbones and Bucky could fight each other to a draw.

The two of them were simply not on the same level!

Facing Bucky, who seemed tireless and incapable of feeling pain, Li Congxin inexplicably felt powerless.

He felt that even with BGM activated, he still wasn't Bucky's match!

Wasn't it supposed to be that, in my BGM, no one could defeat me?

Or was I playing BGM the wrong way?
