As the lid of the hibernation pod slowly closed in front of him, Hao Ren's jumbled thoughts gradually calmed, and he began entering Dormant State. Before falling asleep, his last thought was that even the Hollywood crowd who specialized in sci-fi films probably wouldn't dare imagine anyone using such a high-tech device in such a bumpkin-like way: the hibernation pod had bedding spread inside and a pillow, while a kettle full of water sat beside his head...
He increasingly felt as though he was lying in a coffin.
A wave of grogginess washed over him. Just like his many previous experiences, the darkness lasted less than a second before he "awoke" again. The bustling sounds of the Dream Plane filled his ears, and a fresh breeze—far cleaner than anything on Earth—brushed across his face. Hao Ren opened his eyes and found himself standing near the entrance to the town of Lunber. Before him were the strange otherworldly buildings he had seen once before, along with a circle of frightened locals and two town guards pointing spears at him.
"Who are you!" one of the spear-wielding guards shouted nervously. He was a young man with a few freckles on his face, probably only eighteen or nineteen years old. He stared at Hao Ren, who had suddenly appeared before him, as if facing a great enemy.
Hao Ren hurriedly raised his hands to show that he meant no harm, lifting the kettle as well. Only then did he remember one major feature of entering the Dream Plane: he would appear at the same place where he had departed last time. Last time, he had vanished straight off the main road in full view of the crowd! Sure enough, he had caused trouble again.
"Er, I'm a mage from out of town. Uh,
