The vast grassland in northern Kingdom of Horleta had no name. People in this world simply called it "the Great Grassland." At the center of this expansive land was a desolate, ownerless region, while the surrounding areas formed the vague borders of various nations. For historical reasons, much of the grassland was in a state of dispute over ownership. The southern part bordering Kingdom of Horleta was nominally the kingdom's territory, but in reality there were no officials or troops stationed there. Lunber Town was the kingdom's northernmost administrative unit. As for the Great Grassland, its actual rulers were the Wolf pack, savage beasts, and rampant anomalous disasters.
The Wolf King had once mentioned the legends surrounding this place. In ancient times, the magical civilization had fought a great war here. Beneath the lush green grass of the Great Grassland lay an ancient battlefield, where the powerful warriors of old continued to drive their formidable Magic Power from underground, causing magical disasters such as hurricanes, thunderstorms, and even blizzards to appear out of nowhere from time to time. That was also why the surrounding nations were unwilling to invest too much effort in the grassland. It was simply unsuitable for settling people.
The border regions of the grassland were relatively safer, however, and some sections had never suffered magical disasters at all. Several years ago, a group of mountain people who had emerged from the western mountain ranges established a small village in one such neutral zone. No one knew what agreement the mountain people had reached with the Horleta Royal Family, but the village had been preserved in the form of a border trade zone—despite being hundreds of kilometers away from the mountain people's true settlements.
The small village had no name. People from the kingdom generally called it
