Hao Ren stared at the Data Terminal in surprise. "You're going to power it? Can you handle that?"
He looked at the Data Terminal's tiny body, finding it utterly unbelievable. In his mind, something only palm-sized should have had power output comparable to a cellphone, while the floating island's shield generators—even though he had never witnessed them firsthand—would presumably require at least the output of a whole bunch of nuclear power plants if they were placed on Earth. (Even the Erem Elves at their most down-and-out were more technologically advanced than Earthlings.) Having this palm-sized thing power a city-scale shield generator felt like stuffing a single AA battery into Optimus Prime's stomach...
The Data Terminal swayed smugly in midair. "That's because you're ignorant. Even at its worst, this unit runs on psychokinetic energy. Once converted into low-grade energy, its output is no joke. Hurry up and get the energy interface ready. This unit is going to save the world."
The elf mage beside them stared blankly at this amazing "magical device," whose intelligence was practically indistinguishable from a human's. Seeing how confident the Data Terminal was, Hao Ren could only instruct the workers on-site, "First, route the energy lines over here... Can you route them over?"
Several workers immediately ran off to prepare. The elf mage in charge, however, looked troubled as he regarded the Data Terminal. "Routing the energy lines isn't a problem... but what kind of interface does it need? We... we've never dealt with anything like this before."
Hao Ren poked the Data Terminal. "How do we solve the interface compatibility issue? Do you support USB 3.0?"
"Do these elves even have USB?!" the Data Terminal grumbled. Then it spun rapidly, rolled a circle across the ground, and left a ring-shaped mark behind. Only then did it
