A small shuttle slipped silently out of the launch channel of Giant Turtle Rock Platform and shot toward the abandoned resource storage area at the end of the space island chain.
As regent, Vim had opened a "quiet" route for the shuttle, ensuring that no elves would notice its movements. At the same time, he had ordered the entrances to the abandoned resource storage area sealed, temporarily halted the excavation and recovery of Rainbow Light Island's wreckage, and cleared the entire site to ensure that what came next went smoothly.
After a brief journey through space, the shuttle reached the desolate, dilapidated space junkyard and began searching for Rainbow Light Island's remains under the guidance of the structural diagrams Vim had provided.
The junkyard occupied a vast area of the island chain and bordered the "Deadlands" floating-island cluster closely. Fragments of shattered floating islands were scattered everywhere, and from a distance, they looked like an asteroid belt strewn across the void. The floating islands in the Deadlands were still more or less intact, with some even retaining the possibility of salvage. The wreckage here, however, consisted entirely of fragments that had been utterly destroyed and could no longer be recovered. The Erem Elves collected these remnants of disasters and squeezed the last scraps of resources from them—and Rainbow Light Island, destroyed in a massive explosion not long ago, was naturally among them.
Huge gray-brown or gray-white "rocks" as large as hills drifted past the shuttle's windows. Many still bore traces of artificial construction: some had smooth surfaces, some retained metal coverings, and some still contained passages that had once housed pipes and equipment. Hao Ren even saw twisted, deformed buildings clinging to a few fragments. Those buildings had been torn apart completely, but their enormous interior spaces and heavy partitions
