Vivian could not transform descendants like a Normal Vampire. Everyone she transformed was an ordinary "human," at most somewhat stronger, longer-lived, and healthier than normal people, but absolutely not a Vampire. Heiserana, however, was a Bat Spirit who had cultivated herself into a supernatural being. Since she possessed only part of Vivian's power, she was instead free of this restriction. Not only could she create true descendants, she could also forcibly turn other adult Vampires into her servants through her high-level bloodline. From the Bloodkin's perspective, this should have counted as some kind of "progress." Yet as the price of that progress, the power of Vivian's blood inherited by Heiserana was incomplete: she, her descendants, and her servants had far lower resistance to holy water, holy silver, and other demon-slaying items than Vivian did.
But their resistance was still higher than that of any other supernatural being—so high that, in the latter's eyes, it was utterly insane. They could wield holy-silver weapons in battle for several hours straight, only stopping when their limbs had been burned to a certain degree by the sacred power.
