Hao Ren organized everything he had seen and heard in the Athens Sanctuary—especially the latest intelligence concerning the Origin Holy Artifact and the return plan—into a report and sent it to Raven 12345. After that, he had nothing to do. His next plan was to study the things he had brought back from the sanctuary, but he needed to wait until the Research Facility had been set up.
And that Research Facility was not on Earth.
The "Origin Holy Artifact" brought back from the ruins was enormous—there wasn't even enough room to put it down in the house. On top of that, there was a huge pile of miscellaneous samples waiting to be analyzed. Hao Ren realized that he needed a specialized research site to handle them, and it had better be sufficiently concealed—the kind of place that wouldn't be exposed even in the event of natural or man-made disasters.
After considering the matter from every angle, renting some shady factory or taking over an illegal mine clearly wasn't reliable. There was the cautionary example of those wizards who had fallen asleep in a cave and been blasted into the sky with detonators. In the end, they concluded that putting the laboratory somewhere more remote would be best—such as aboard the ship currently parked in the Kuiper Belt.
His home was on Earth, while his research site was in the Kuiper Belt. The distance between the two places was so great that it felt rather surreal. Hao Ren thought he could even boast to people, "My house is huge. Every day, I have to use a super-spatial teleportation device just to get from my bedroom to my studio. If I took a rocket, it'd take more than ten years to get there..."
The fixed teleportation device he had installed in
