The countless tentacles of the "Firstborn" began thrashing wildly. It realized that a mass of destructive energy from space was gathering above it, energy powerful enough to annihilate it completely, and instantly created layer upon layer of defenses. The sky was covered in shields and force fields, while distorted radiance and beams burst from the tip of every tentacle and were fired at space in a chaotic barrage. The concentration of such tremendous energy even completely altered the weather in the region: sunlight abruptly retreated, and the sky, which had been in broad daylight, suddenly revealed a sky full of stars.
Amid that star-filled sky, a silver star rapidly grew larger before finally transforming into a pillar of light that reached from heaven to earth and descended above the "Firstborn."
Countless layers of shields and force fields silently shattered before the blue-white pillar of light. Defenses built upon the laws of nature were utterly useless against this power, which lay beyond the worldview of this universe. As the white light descended, the Firstborn's final roar nearly tore heaven and earth apart. The mountain-sized composite rose high into the air in an instant, becoming several times taller than the highest peak of the Dragon Ridge Mountains, but was immediately swallowed by the radiance.
Only afterward did a world-destroying shock wave erupt from the Firstborn's core. Under the cover of endless light, the earth and rocks rapidly turned into magma before being blown more than a thousand meters into the air by the shock wave. The plains west of the Dragon Ridge Mountains became a basin in the blink of an eye. The entire mountain range beneath everyone's feet shook violently as if it were about to collapse, and amid the earth-shattering tremors, a raging current of air carrying scorching rock vapor
