The Demonforge Mine had once been one of Demon Lord Seradon's most important military facilities. Just a few months ago, it had been home to two entire demon legions and hundreds of incredibly powerful Hellfires, but now, all that remained was a huge pit—nothing else.
Hao Ren was deeply shaken as he stared at the enormous crater before him. It had been directly converted from a massive caldera, and its floor was covered with dark-brown felstone interspersed with filthy green light. Huge cracks and caves leading deep underground could be seen all over the mine walls. Blazing fel flames gushed from those fissures, making the entire Demonforge Mine look like a huge brazier that had yet to go out—an intimidating sight.
The place had suffered severe destruction, however. Everywhere, they could see ruined demon facilities, some reduced to nothing more than broken walls, others to mere foundations. Only a few unrecognizable black-iron supports remained along the mine walls. At the bottom, there was nothing but a dense forest of demon-iron spikes. Those things had originally been part of the Demonforge facilities, used to secure inactive Hellfire Giants or suppress powerful hostile demons. They had once stood dozens or even hundreds of meters tall, but now only a neat field of stumps, barely two or three meters high, remained. The cross-sections of this demon-iron forest were so smooth that they looked as if they had been sliced by a blade.
There were no other fragments of the destroyed buildings anywhere in the mine. Only their foundations remained, as if their upper halves had vanished into thin air.
"When that 'Goddess' took the King away, she was intercepted by other demons. But she didn't even make a move, and all the demons and buildings in the mine simply vanished," Lanina said. Even
